Our Summer Trip
We didn't end up going to California and Arizona last year because of the gas prices...well, what a difference a year makes, as gas prices are higher than ever! At least we had our stimulus check to spend, so we felt it was the BEST time to go. We started in Las Vegas and tried to get in a few sites from the Strip before the sun went down. Excalibur was a fun place to stay and we even got in some swimming. We then journeyed to Jeff and Debi's house in California and spent a lot of time in their oasis of a pool and at the beach. We enjoyed some awesome shaved ice every evening thanks to their real Hawaiian shaved ice machine (thanks Ebay!). Next we drove to Arizona...for even hotter weather! More swimming and spending time with cousins...and more shaved ice at Bahama Bucks! We will always have great memories from our awesome 2008 summer vacation...and spending our stimulus check!
Our Latest Project
Here is our latest project. It is not quite finished yet, but most of the hard work is over. Bryan and I dug 7 holes, poured 2 1/2 bags of concrete per hole, stained everything, and put the posts up. Then Will "the Wonder Builder" (a counselor from Bryan's old school) came over and helped Bryan in 101 degree weather with the finishing touches...which is of course the most important part! We love it! Our next project is to put pavers down so we can have a table and chairs outside.
