We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. The last two months have been crazy so I have not added anything...sorry! We hope everything is going well with everyone.

Honesty and Early Alzheimer's

The other night I had to take Aidan to dance and left Bryan with instructions on putting the baby to bed. Gentry had been sick and I wanted her to sleep with the humidifier on to help her breathe better. I had prepared the humidifier and Bryan simply needed to plug it in. I came home from my nightly errands and got ready for bed. Bryan came to bed shortly thereafter. The lights were out and the sleepy silence started to take over. I sat up remembering that the humidifier had been on for awhile and asked Bryan if he would go and turn it off. He gladly got up and walked to Gentry's room to unplug it. I listened while he quietly opened the door, did something, then came back to bed. As he was climbing into bed, I asked him if the room was really humid. He replied that it was "kind of" humid. I layed there thinking, wow, it should have been pretty damp in there for how long that humidifier had been on. Once again that silence took over and I started to doze off. All of a sudden I heard Bryan say aloud, "Okay, I have to be honest, I didn't even plug in the humidifier." I had to question if I had really heard what I thought I had heard...or if I was having a dream. "Yeah," Bryan continued," I walked into the room and went to unplug the humidifier and it was already unplugged...and that's when the reality dawned on me that I had never plugged it in to begin with!" We laughed for a long while at just how funny the moment was. I hope this isn't an early sign of Alzheimer's!

The Balloon Festival

We recently went to the balloon festival on Antelope Island. There were not too many balloons but the trip was still interesting. We had never been to Antelope Island before and found the buffalo to be more interesting than the balloons. We will always remember dodging fresh buffalo pies, smelling the brine stench, and Gentry dancing to live music then falling into a hole and rolling around like a turtle on its back. It was a good time!

A diaper to remember!
The other night we had dinner at Arctic Circle. (Bryan calls it the "Arsenic Cesspool" beause he worked there for awhile back in high school) My kids love the chicken rings and french fries...and oh that fry sauce! Gentry especially loves fries, and ate several. The next morning while the three girls and I were folding laundry, Gentry walked into the hallway. We could smell her poopy diaper right away. The memorable dialogue went as follows:
Mom: Gentry, you stink little girl!
Kali: Oooh ya! She does stink.
Mom: In fact, she smells like our dinner from Arctic Circle.
At this point Gentry continued to walk by and made her own comment.
Gentry: Freh fry.
We were all rolling with laughter on the floor. Our one year old either knows the word Arctic Circle, or could smell the french fry aroma emitting from her diaper... or was placing her order for lunch.
