Exciting News

Well, Bryan is now officially a VP in a high school. We just found out yesterday that Bryan is going to Copper Hills High School next year. He is so excited! He interned his first year there, then went to Butler Middle School. Now he gets to go back for a little while. We are so happy for the change because the school is only 9 miles away from our house. We will save so much on gas alone! However, I am a little sad knowing that he won't be around as much because of all the after school activities he has to go to. But at least the girls and I get to go to the school plays and dance concerts. Fun stuff! Go Grizzlies!

Bird update

Our house guest has been busy these last few days. The nest now has 4 eggs. The mom has laid an egg a day and just ended yesterday. Here are a few pictures that we have taken. Taking these pictures is not the easiest thing to do. We only try to take pictures when the nest is empty, yet everytime we get close the mom and dad come from nowhere and both start chirping nervously at us.

Here is momma nervously posing for the camera. We've been leaving her alone for the most part, but it's times like these that she has second thoughts about where she built her nest. We should see some babies in about 12 to 16 days. We'll post pictures when they come. Pretty exciting stuff around the Leggat house!

Gentry vs. the Dora Kite

T'was a blustery day when Gentry took out her Dora kite for its maiden flight. At first, Dora just sat there on the ashen tundra, almost taunting Gentry with her evil Dora smirk. "I am not intimidated by your infantile ways, Dora" Gentry exclaimed. "Off the ground you go, you plastic imitation of cartoon entertainment", she continued, with growing impatience.

Alas, a hearty gust occurred and Dora had no other option but to lift her stubborn one-dimensional self off the concrete plains. Glee bolstered the heart of young Gentry as wind filled Dora's animated soul and toward the heavens she flew...

But clever Dora had other plans. She would not go down...or up...without a fight. With the skill only a cartoon kite could employ, she adjusted in the tumultuous wind and careened herself off of Gentry's strange metal steed, and with the cruelty of Swiper the Fox...

...glared at poor Gentry with her unblinking auburn eyes. "I am not your servant, you childish fiend! Your adorable smile and rosy cheeks will not make me submit to your pulling and yanking..and tugging and dragging! That drooling and snotty nose offends my prismacolor essence. I must teach you a lesson about cheap plastic kites that you will never forget, little Gentry!"

At that very moment, Dora made her final move. Her demon wings unfolded and with the force of a gale wind, she viciously attacked the defenseless Gentry! In a weeping rage and with hopeless abandon, little Gentry cowered toward her distant castle. The climax was complete in this dreadful saga..and evil Dora was once again the victor.

A Bird's Nest

Yesterday while doing yard work Bryan discovered this bird's nest right on one of the posts on our porch. It is so cool to see up close. There aren't any eggs in it yet, nor have we seen a bird in it, but there has been a little red robin flying around our yard lately. This bird has a great view of our den. It probably liked hearing Kali play the piano. This is one reason I love spring so much. It seems like there is so much to discover when we can go outside. I'm glad this find was not a black widow, centipede, or other creepy insect.
